Volunteer Opportunities

We are seeking active members to volunteer for the following committees and groups:

Street Teams / Events – you will provide information and materials on the FBI Citizens’ Academy and the Alumni Association to the community. We participate at a number of diverse events throughout the year and the Southern California region. Events generally last a few hours and you will be providing with material, talking point, and all equipment needed for the display/booth space. Generally multiple volunteers are needed for each event.

Phone Tree – on occasion, the Alumni Association might need to contact members and graduates to promote or advise of upcoming events.

Blogging / Social Networking – we would like to find Internet and social network savvy members interested in promoting the Citizens’ Academy and the Alumni Association online. This can be done on your time and at home, so it provides a great opportunity to participate in the Alumni Association with limited resources.

Operations Committee – these key volunteers are responsible for Citizens’ Academy operations including room set up, food preparation, room clean up, and socializing with new students. We generally seek 3-4 volunteers per evening throughout the Academy.

Table Top Volunteers – a new component of the Citizens’ Academy includes an interactive table top exercise. We are seeking 5-6 volunteers that can be present for multiple weeks and assist with the logistics of the exercise.

Fundraising Committee – financial support is essential for the operation of the Citizens’ Academy and the Alumni Association. We are looking for members who are comfortable contacting known associates, alumni, and corporate affiliates to seek donations for our continued operation.

10th Anniversary Committee – 2011 presents a great opportunity for the Los Angeles Alumni Association to celebrate 10 years of community service. We are seeking members who can provide insight and support throughout 2010-2011 on anniversary related events and projects.

Public Relations Committee – publicity is important to promote the activities of the Citizens’ Academy and the Alumni Association. We are seeking members with specific talents in Video, Photography, Writing, and Media relations to assist in this area. Also included is our quarterly newsletter, so writers and photographers with content are encouraged to discuss submissions in advance.

Please contact us at info@fbicaa.org to volunteer for any of these committees or groups.
